Kate and her paw-some husband, Jeff, live in Ankeny, IA, where they’ve been barking up the culinary tree for about 15 years each. Kate unleashed her pastry skills to create tail-wagging treats guaranteed to make your pup’s day a little more pug-tastic!
Chubby Pug Cheese, LLC is a licensed Micro-'BARKery' rolling out treats in small batches—no ruff ingredients like artificial color or flavors, no refined sugars, and no preservatives. Only the best for your fur babies!
We started out making cheesy shapes, but have evolved into Barkcuterie Boards, monthly designs, and custom treats for any howl-iday or special occasion.
Our Chief Inspiration Officer
Layla Jane Pug (2008-2023) is the reason we rolled out Chubby Pug Cheese—she was the top dog in our hearts and the inspiration behind every tail-wagging treat!
As Layla started getting a little more gray around the muzzle, life became a bit ruff for our little squish. Crunchy treats were a real bone of contention, so we unleashed our creativity to whip up these paw-licious biscuits that even Layla could gobble up without a struggle.
Once we nailed the ulti-mutt base treat, we made a pup-royal icing, turning every snack into a masterpiece for your four-legged furriends.

VP of Quality Control
Senorita Gordita (6 yrs) is a tiny potato that we adopted from the Wichita Pug Rescue in June 2026. Rita immediately stole our hearts and our treats, proving right away that she was un-pug-gettable! As our newly appointed VP of Quality Control, Rita takes her job very seriously—especially when it comes to sniffing out snacks and ensuring all nap spots are up to standard. She has been the paw-fect addition to our team, and we are mutts about her! Whether she is supervising lunch breaks or demanding belly rubs, Rita is the best part of our day!
